Italian Music Conservatory to Open School Branch in Sejong

A prestigious Italian music conservatory has decided to set up a branch of its school in Sejong City, South Korea.

The National Agency for Administrative City Construction(NAACC), a government body to build an administrative city in Sejong City, said on Sunday that the board of directors of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia approved the plan to open a branch in Sejong in the second half of 2019.

A delegation from the academy will visit the NAACC on September ninth to discuss details of the project.

In the planned meeting, the NAACC will call for launching a preparatory committee for the branch school, and sign a legally binding agreement with the conservatory.

The Italian academy in Rome, founded in 1585, is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world.
