South Korea has appointed a former coach for the Chinese national table tennis team to lead the national women’s team.
 
The Korea Table Tennis Association said on Friday that Zhong Jinyong will lead the South Korean national women’s table tennis team until the end of the Asian Games next year.
 
The association decided to appoint a Chinese coach as the women’s team failed to advance to the final four at the Rio Olympic Games last year and have not performed well in recent international competitions.
 
The Chinese coach reportedly trained world-ranking table tennis players such as Ma Long, Xu Xin, Zhang Jike.
