Concerts Set for 5 Seoul Palaces Wishing for Olympic Success

Various cultural performances will be held at the five major royal palaces in downtown Seoul next month wishing for the success of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said Thursday that a range of musical performances will be staged at the five palaces including classical, jazz and the Korean traditional music of gukak.

The ministry said that 32 performing teams have also been selected.

The list includes the multinational band Gan Ainm which plays Irish traditional music as well as the sibling classical duo Vito and the Hanwoori Wind Orchestra whose members include the physically disabled.

The concerts are scheduled September 23rd and 24th at the palaces of Gyeongbok, Deoksoo, Changdeok, Changgyeong and Gyeonghee all in the downtown Seoul area.
