The South Korean movie “A Taxi Driver” has surpassed nine million in ticket sales.
 
According to the Korean Film Council on Wednesday, the movie starring Song Kang-ho maintained the top place in the local box office rankings, drawing an audience of 577-thousand on Liberation Day on Tuesday at over one-thousand screens nationwide.
 
The total attendance reached nine-point-02 million, topping the nine million mark 13 days after its release on August second.
 
The film is likely to surpass the ten million milestone this weekend, although its ticket reservation rate dropped to the 20 percent range from more than 40 percent following the release of “War for the Planet of the Apes” on Tuesday.
