A business magazine has found that eight out of ten large business firms are concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area. According to New Management, 79 percent of the five hundred biggest local firms are headquartered in Seoul and its vicinity. The monthly said the companies in the area also account for 81 percent of their total revenues or some 679 trillion won, deepening the economic imbalance between the metropolitan and provincial areas. Seoul has the most corporate headquarters with 353, followed by Gyeonggi Province with 45.
