ABC Decides to Expand Production of Remake of S. Korean TV Drama

U.S. TV network ABC, says it decided to add five more episodes to its TV series, “The Good Doctor,” which is a remake of a KBS TV drama of the same name.  
 
The broadcasting company said Tuesday that it decided to expand the number of episodes from 13 to 18 amid the show's strong popularity. In the U.S., a series with 18 episodes is considered to have a full season.
 
The first episode of “The Good Doctor” that aired last Monday saw a rating of two-point-two percent among viewers aged between 18 and 49. The second episode, which aired this Monday, saw ratings climb to two-point-four percent. A series with a rating of above two percent is regarded to be relatively popular in the U.S.
 
“The Good Doctor” is the first remake of a South Korean TV drama to be aired during a U.S. terrestrial broadcaster’s regular season and during prime time.
