Service Sector Posts Positive Gains in June, 2nd Quarter

The National Statistical Office said Monday the nation's service sector posted 1.9-percent growth compared to the same period in 2002.
The office said it represented a rebound from three consecutive months of negative growth, adding that figures for the entire second quarter edged up by 0.2 percent vis-a-vis the same period last year.
The strong upward trend for financial and insurance sectors resulted in an increase of profits related to insurance premiums.
