Olympic Flame Handed over to S. Korean Organizers

The Olympic flame was handed over to the South Korean organizers of the PyeongChang Winter Games at a ceremony in Greece on Tuesday.

Spyros Capralos, who leads the Hellenic Olympic Committee, passed the flame to Lee Hee-beom, president of the organizing committee for the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.

The flame, which was lit last Tuesday at the Temple of Hera in Olympia, arrived at Incheon International Airport on Wednesday morning.

The Olympic torch relay will begin a two-thousand-18-kilometer-long tour through 17 cities and provinces nationwide, involving 75-hundred runners, for 101 days until the Winter Olympics opens in February next year.
