Olympic Flame Arrives in South Korea

With 100 days to go until the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the Olympic flame has arrived in South Korea this morning.

The flame for the PyeongChang Games was lit at the Temple of Hera in Olympia, Greece, on October 24th and following an eight-day relay through Greece, it made its way to South Korea after traveling over 8,500 kilometers.

At the welcoming ceremony were Lee Hee-beom, head of the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Games, and Kim Yu-na, 2010 Olympic figure skating champion and an honorary ambassador for PyeongChang 2018.

The torch relay will commence Wednesday afternoon and wrap up at the opening ceremony on February ninth.

The first torch bearer will be You Young, who became the youngest national ladies' singles figure skating champion at age eleven last year.
