President Roh Vows to Turn South Korea into Cultural Superpower

President Roh Moo-hyun pledged Wednesday to turn South Korea into a "cultural super-nation" within five years and attract more than 10 million foreign tourists every year.

In his address to the opening of the 2003 Kyeongju World Culrure Expo, Roh said that becoming a cultural superpower is a key state goal of his administration. He added that he would work to turn South Korea into one of the top five international cultural industries.
