Park Ji-sung Named Youth Program Chief of S. Korean Football Body

The Korea Football Association(KFA) said Wednesday that it appointed South Korean football legend Park Ji-sung as chief of its youth strategy department.

The KFA said that the 36 year-old former midfielder for Manchester United will use his professional knowledge and experience to draw up solid strategies for young players.

The KFA is undergoing a major personnel reshuffle, after its President Chung Mong-gyu pledged last month to restructure the organization to boost the competitiveness of Korean football.

The association selected Hong Myung-bo, former head coach of the national team, as the general secretary over administrative affairs.

The KFA also picked former national team defender Choi Young-il as a new vice president, handing him control over school football programs.
