Quarantine authorities have prepared response measures to a possible outbreak of avian influenza in the southeastern province of North Gyeongsang.
 
Following the discovery of a strain of AI in Pohang City, authorities on Wednesday launched measures to contain the virus-- which they believe is a low pathogenic strain.
 
Quarantine vehicles will be sent to farms and sanctuaries for migratory birds for disinfection.
 
The movement of poultry and livestock has also been prohibited in a ten-kilometer radius encompassing 282 farms from where the AI strain was found. However, if the strain is confirmed as a low pathogenic virus, the measure will be lifted.
