Festival officials and local news reports said Friday South Korean film director Kim Ki-duk's latest cinematic offering is on the inside track to win this year's Golden Leopard, the top prize at the Locarno International Film Festival in Geneva.

Kim's "Spring, summer, autumn, winter and spring" played to critical praise during a review Thursday and drew keen interest from Israeli and Brazilian film buyers.

The winner will be announced Saturday at the end of the 11-day festival.
