Lee Takes Silver in Women's 500M at Speed Skating World Cup

Speed skater Lee Sang-hwa finished second in the first race of the women's 500 meters in the current International Skating Union (ISU) World Cup Speed Skating tournament.
 
On the first day of this season's fourth leg of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Salt Lake City, Utah in the U.S. on Friday, Lee finished second in the Division A first race with a time of 36-point-71 seconds, her best time this season.
 
It's point-15 seconds faster than her performance during the third world cup.
 
In the Friday race, Japanese rival Nao Kodaira was the winner with a time of 36-point-50 seconds.
 
Lee was faster in the first 100 meters but her pace slowed past the midpoint.
 
Kodaira is an undefeated champion, winning the women's 500 meters for the 22nd consecutive World Cup including six wins in the event this season alone.
