Following North Korea's bombshell Monday that it will not be sending a delegation to the Daegu Universiade, officials revealed Tuesday that four other countries were strongly considering withdrawing from the event.

Officials of the 2003 Summer Universiade said Nauru, Somalia, Liberia and Qatar may not attend the event, due to a variety of reasons.

Delegations from Somalia and Nauru were apparently having difficulty arriving on time due to missing connecting flights.

Universiade officials said the Somali delegation missed its connecting flight after failing to find the departure gate in Dubai on Aug. 13. They added that officials had tracked the three-member team down to its current whereabouts in Bangkok.
