Heavy Snow Advisory Remains in Parts of Gyeonggi Province

The weather agency lifted its heavy snow advisory for Seoul Monday afternoon, but the warning remains in parts of Gyeonggi Province. 

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that as of 12 p.m., the amount of snowfall reached nine-point-five centimeters in Yangpyeong and six-point-seven centimeters in Namyangju. 

The agency expects one to two more centimeters of snowfall by nighttime in the capital region. 

Heavy snow advisories are issued when there is more than five centimeters of snow within 24 hours. 

The weather agency lifted its advisories for Gwacheon, Seongnam, Gwangju and Gimpo as of 12:30 p.m., but the warnings remain in place for Yangpyeong, Namyangju, Hanam and Guri in Gyeonggi Province.
