Weather Agency Predicts Colder Winter

South Korea's weather agency said Tuesday that the month of January is likely to be colder than the average year, as continental high pressure expands across the peninsula.

The agency predicts average temperatures for February, although the country may see some ups and downs due to continental high pressure and migratory anti-cyclones.

In Gangwon Province, where the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics will be held, the agency expects dry conditions but a heavy fall of snow.

March is also forecast to see normal temperatures with the possibility of an extended drought. Most days are expected to be mild and dry.
