Point Man on Inter-Korean Ties Named as N. Korea's Chief Delegate for Talks

North Korea has notified South Korea that it will send a five-member delegation for inter-Korean high level talks set for Tuesday.

A Unification Ministry official in Seoul said that the North on Sunday sent the list of its delegation headed by Ri Son-gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, the state agency in charge of inter-Korean affairs.

Other members include the committee's senior officials, the vice sports minister and the North's Olympic Committee member.

South Korea's Unification Ministry said that the two Koreas will continue talks on details of the high-level talks through the Panmunjeom liaison channel.

South Korea on Saturday finalized and notified North Korea of its list of the five-member delegation headed by Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon.

The two Koreas are set to meet on Tuesday at the Peace House in Panmunjeom on the South Korean side of the border to discuss North Korea's participation in the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympics and improving inter-Korean ties.
