South Koreans Won't Need ID Cards for Domestic Flights

South Korea will allow passengers on domestic flights to travel without identification cards.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Airports Corporation said Monday that Gimpo and Jeju Airports will begin checking in passengers through biological identification such as palm vein authentication and fingerprint sensors.

The service launches next Monday.

Those who wish to use the service must be 14 years of age or older and a South Korean citizen.

Users may sign up for the service on the third floor of the passengers' terminal for domestic flights at Gimpo Airport or Jeju Airport's passenger terminal on the third floor.
