Another Deep Freeze to Grip Nation

South Korea is in for another brutal cold wave.

Sunday marks the seasonal division of the "onset of spring" according to the lunar calendar.

But a deep freeze will grip the nation due to cold air blowing from the northwest.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Saturday that clear skies are forecast nationwide through Monday but it will be very cold for the time being.

Heavy snow is also forecast on the west coast of South Chungcheong Province, the Jeolla Provinces and Jeju Island.

Morning lows will dip below minus ten degrees Celsius in many parts of the country including minus 13 in capital Seoul, minus eight in southern port city Busan and minus 20 in the Daegwallyeong mountain pass.

But with strong frosty winds, it will feel much colder due to wind chill.
