S. Korea’s Female Curling Team Edges Toward Semi-Finals

The South Korean women’s curling team claimed their fourth win of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Sunday to edge toward a place in the semi-finals. 

The four-member team, led by skip Kim Eun-jung, defeated China 12-5 at the Gangneung Curling Centre.

The Korean team started the match strongly as they scored three points in the first and third ends. They then added four points in the fifth end to take a 10-2 lead.

China struggled to catch up and eventually conceded defeat after the eighth end. 

Following the win, the South Korean team lie in joint-second place among the ten participating nations having posted four victories and one loss. The top four teams will progress to the semi-finals of the competition. 

In the day’s other matches, Sweden defeated Great Britain 8-6 and Canada beat Switzerland 10-8.
