Forsythias to Bloom First in Jeju on March 16

The blooming of spring flowers in the nation this year is forecast to take place around the same time as the average period posted during the past 30 years.

Private meteorological firm, 153Weather, made the assessment on Monday as temperatures for late February and March are expected to stand at the same level as previous years.

The firm projected that forsythias are expected to burst into bloom from March 16th on Jeju Island.

Another private weather company, KWeather, had earlier forecast that spring flowers will bloom one to four days earlier this year compared to previous years.

The firm projected that forsythias will first bloom on Jeju on March 12th and azaleas on March 15th.
