Olympic Figure Skater Choi Da-bin Places 8th in Short Program

South Korean figure skater Choi Da-bin has placed eighth in the short program at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. 

On the first day of of the women's singles competition at the Gangneung Ice Arena on Wednesday, the 18-year-old garnered 37-point-54 points for her technical elements score(TES) and 30-point-23 points for her program components score(PCS) for a combined total of 67-point-77 points.

It marked a personal best score for Choi who earlier earned 65-point-73 points for the short program she skated during the Olympic team event on February eleventh. 

She will now move on to compete with 23 others in Friday's free skate portion.
