Canadians Seal Gold and Silver in Ladies’ Ski Cross

Canada dominated the ladies’ ski cross final at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics on Friday as Kelsey Serwa and compatriot Brittany Phelan won a gold and silver medal respectively.

Serwa’s comfortable victory at Phoenix Park ensured that Canada has now won all of the ladies’ ski cross events at the Winter Olympics since the event first debuted at the 2010 Vancouver Games.

Switzerland's Fanny Smith claimed the bronze medal, while Sandra Naeslund of Sweden was fourth.

It represents the second time that Serwa has won an Olympic medal as the 28 year-old claimed silver at the Sochi Games in 2014.

However, it was a bad day for fellow Canadian Marielle Thompson, with the reigning Olympic champion crashing out in the first heat.
