Figure Skater Choi Da-bin Earns Personal Best Scores at PyeongChang

South Korean figure skater Choi Da-bin put on a strong performance in the ladies’ free skate at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, setting two new personal best scores.

Choi performed a near-clean routine at the Gangneung Ice Arena on Friday to earn a score of 131-point-49 and finish in seventh place with a total score of 199-point-26.

Both scores represent new personal records for the 18 year-old, as she surpassed the tallies she set at the World Figure Skating Championships last year.

The result means that Choi has become just the second South Korean skater to achieve a top-ten finish at the Winter Olympics after figure skating legend Kim Yu-na.

Meanwhile, her compatriot Kim Ha-nul came in 13th place after being awarded a combined score of 175-point-71.
