The Unification Ministry says it strongly protested to North Korea about South Korean journalists not being allowed to enter the venue of a performance by South Korean musicians in Pyongyang on Sunday. 

Ministry Spokesman Baik Tae-hyun told reporters on Monday that many South Korean reporters were not allowed to enter the venue of the concert. 

He said the ministry issued a strong protest shortly after the concert ended through the liaison channel at the truce village of Panmunjeom. 

According to Baik, the North is said to have expressed intent to cooperate as much as possible on the South Korean journalists’ activities. 

On why the time for Sunday’s concert kept changing, Baik said the North explained that it delayed the time to enable more people to watch the performance. 

The opening time of the concert was changed multiple times, raising speculation that it had been altered to accommodate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's surprise attendance. It was originally set to start at 5:30 p.m. but was changed to 7:30 p.m. and eventually to 6:30 p.m.
