Two Koreas to Hold Joint Rehearsal for Summit

South and North Korea will hold a joint rehearsal on Wednesday ahead of their upcoming summit set for Friday.

Officials from the two sides will begin the rehearsal on Wednesday morning at the truce village of Panmunjeom, the venue for the historic meeting between President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The officials will engage in comprehensive on-site inspections under the exact same format as the actual summit, and trace detailed routes and events involving the two leaders, including a welcoming ceremony and a dinner.

For the closed-door joint rehearsal, a North Korean delegation led by Kim Chang-son, an official from the State Affairs Commission, will arrive at the Peace House in Panmunjeom to join the South Korean officials.

The two Koreas will reportedly not deploy stand-ins for the two leaders during the rehearsal and their seats will be left vacant.
