Seoul's Unification Ministry says discussions continue between the two Koreas over the agenda for the upcoming inter-Korean Summit.
Ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun said during a regular media briefing on Wednesday that the two sides are still working out key agenda items such as the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, bringing lasting peace to the region and developing inter-Korean ties.
Speaking on the experiences from the previous two inter-Korean summits, Baik said although intense discussions on the agenda of a summit are held in advance, substantial parts of it can be fine-tuned during the actual meeting between the two leaders.
The spokesman declined to comment on a report that the South will propose installing a joint liaison office during Friday’s summit, saying there was nothing to confirm.
He added, however, that to his knowledge, opening permanent liaison offices in Seoul and Pyongyang was proposed during the 2007 inter-Korean summit.
