South Korea will remove loudspeakers along the inter-Korean border on Tuesday that were used to blast anti-North Korea propaganda, the Defense Ministry said Monday.

The move is the first follow-up measure to the “Panmunjeom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification of the Korean Peninsula” that was signed after Friday’s inter-Korean summit.

In the declaration, the two Koreas agreed to cease all hostile acts against each other on land, air and sea. This included halting loudspeaker broadcasts and the distribution of leaflets around the  Military Demarcation Line by May first.

The ministry said the government hasn't distributed leaflets since 2010, but further discussions are needed on whether private organizations will be blocked from launching them.
