Top Office Welcomes US-N. Korea Summit in Singapore

The South Korean presidential office has welcomed the planned summit between Washington and Pyongyang after U.S. President Donald Trump announced he will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore on June 12th. 

Right after the announcement on Thursday, presidential spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom sent a message to reporters that the top office hails the Kim-Trump summit in Singapore. 

The spokesman said that the top office hopes the summit will pave the way for realizing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and establishing lasting peace in the region. 

Trump tweeted on Thursday that he will meet with Kim in Singapore on June 12th, adding that they will both try to make it a very special moment for world peace.
