South Korea defeated Honduras 2-0 in a friendly match on Monday as the Taeguk Warriors continued their preparations for next month’s FIFA World Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min opened the scoring in the 60th minute of the match at Daegu Stadium in Daegu with a powerful 25-yard strike.

Substitute Moon Seon-min, who was making his international debut, scored the second goal from close range in the 71st minute.

Son captained the side as regular skipper Ki Sung-yeung started on the bench, and the forward put in a strong performance along with young winger Lee Seung-woo.

The victory ensured that South Korea extended its undefeated streak at home to 16 matches, a run that dates back to March 2015.

South Korea will play Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday in a friendly match in Jeonju before head coach Shin Tae-yong picks his final 23-man squad for the World Cup.
