Belgium and England both won their first games of the FIFA World Cup in Russia on Monday.

Belgium defeated World Cup debutants Panama 3-0 in Sochi with Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku scoring twice in the opening game of Group G.

After a goalless first half, Belgium opened the scoring shortly after half time when Dries Mertens scored a spectacular volley. Lukaku then scored a header before sealing the victory with a fine finish.

Meanwhile, England beat Tunisia 2-1 in Volgograd in the day’s other match in Group G thanks to two goals from Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Kane opened the scoring in the eleventh minute with a close-range finish before Tunisia's Ferjani Sassi equalized from the penalty spot. England wasted a number of good chances but eventually grabbed a dramatic winner in the 91st minute through a header from Kane.
