South Korea's Unification Minister has revealed Seoul and Pyongyang will soon hold defense minister-level talks.

Cho Myoung-gyon was speaking Tuesday during a forum of the National Unification Advisory Council, explaining the government's North Korea policy.

Minister Cho said the talks will be held in the near future to discuss transforming the Demilitarized Zone(DMZ) into a peace zone and turning the Northern Limit Line, a de facto sea border in the Yellow Sea, into a maritime peace zone.

The two Koreas reportedly discussed holding defense ministers' talks during their general-level military talks last Thursday, but failed to reach an agreement.
