Property Damage Exceeds 4.3 Tln Won, Death Toll at 113

The Central Anti-Disaster Headquarters (CADH) said Thursday that estimated property damage from Typhoon Maemi has surged to 4.3 trillion won or $3.6 billion dollars.

The CADH said the typhoon also left 113 dead and 14 missing as of 6 a.m. Thursday.

South Gyeongsang Province suffered the most with 63 dead or missing, followed by North Gyeongsang Province with 19, Busan with 14, 13 deaths in Gangwon and 12 in South Jeolla Province.

Three people are reported dead or missing in Daegu, two in Jeju and one in North Jeolla Province.

14,000, people, or 5,000 households have been rendered homeless.

South Gyeongsang has reported 9,500 homeless victims, the largest such number in the country.
