Two United States officials are reportedly visiting North Korea to prepare for the return of the remains of American soldiers killed during the Korean War.

The Voice of America (VOA) issued the report quoting Richard Downes, executive director of the Coalition of Families of Korean and Cold War POW/MIAs.

Downes said during an interview with the VOA, that an official from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and a forensic anthropologist are visiting the North to arrange the repatriation and minimize a possible mix-up of remains.

Downes also said that with advances in identification technology and new facilities in Hawaii, swift identification will be possible for some remains.
