The two Koreas will field a joint team in three sporting disciplines at the Jakarta Asian Games in August.

Officials from South and North Korea gathered in the Indonesian capital on Thursday along with officials of the Olympic Council of Asia(OCA) and the organizing committee for the Asian Games.

During the meeting, they agreed to form inter-Korean teams in basketball, canoe dragon boat, and rowing.

Specifically, they are women’s basketball, men’s and women’s dragon boat and three rowing events, including men’s coxless four, men’s eight and women’s double scull.

It will be only the second time in history for the two Koreas to form a joint team at a major international sporting event, following the formation of a women’s ice hockey team at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in February.
