South Korea’s leading swimmer Park Tae-hwan has given up his bid to compete at the Jakarta Asian Games.

The 28-year-old swimmer said through his agency on Friday that he has made the decision due to his condition.

The 2008 Olympic gold medalist in the 400-meter freestyle had qualified to represent the national team in the upcoming Asian Games by winning all of the four freestyle events he participated in.

But Park’s agent said he is too weary and needs rest.
