Rescue helicopters and ground crews are still combing southern mountainous areas for two Air Force fighter jets. The single-seater F-5E fighters were on a routine training mission over Mount Deokyu when they went off radar screens on Friday afternoon.

Officials suspect the two jets crashed into the mountainous area in bad weather.

Rescue helicopters have been searching the areas for a second day but rescue and search efforts were being hampered by heavy fog and rain.
