Sweltering heat has continued to blanket the nation on Friday.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), heat wave warnings and advisories have been issued for most regions across the country, with daily highs forecast to reach 36 degrees Celsius.

The mercury in Daegu, Daejeon, Sejong and Jeonju was forecast to rise to between 35 and 36 degrees Celsius during the day, while the daytime high in Seoul was forecast to peak at 32 degrees.

The UV index for most parts of the country was expected to remain high throughout the day.

Meanwhile, some regions in the nation will continue to see tropical nights, where the temperature stays above 25 degrees Celsius overnight.
