A new study in the country has found evidence that depressed patients with low cholesterol levels may be more likely to commit suicide.

Low levels of cholesterol in patients suffering from depression have previously been linked to suicide and violence, although the issue remains controversial.

The latest findings were presented at a meeting of the European College of Neuro-psychopharmacology by researchers from the psychiatry department at the College of Medicine in Asan City.
