The nighttime temperature in Seoul dropped below 25 degrees Celsius for the first time in almost a month.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), the overnight low in Seoul came to 22-point-one degrees Celsius as of 6:40 a.m. on Friday, ending the record spell of tropical nights.

Tropical nights occur when overnight temperatures hover above 25 degrees Celsius from 6:01 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. the next day.

Seoul has seen 26 tropical nights in a row since July 22nd, replacing the previous record of 24 straight nights set in 1994.

The sweltering heat dissipated in most parts of the nation, with the overnight lows in Yeosu, Daejeon and Busan also falling below 25 degrees Celsius.

However, the weather agency said it's too early to say that tropical nights are behind the nation for this summer, forecasting some regions will see scorching weather again after Sunday.
