A high level South Korean government source says dress code restrictions on visitors and civilians visiting the Joint Security Area(JSA) between the two Koreas will soon be lifted.

It's part of a broader plan to completely demilitarize the JSA  by the end of this year, as laid out in an inter-Korean military accord produced during Pyongyang summit.

Removing landmines from areas surrounding Panmunjeom is a first step, set to take place from October first to the 20th.

The mine removal is to be overseen by a trilateral consultation group involving the Koreas and the UN Command.

New guidelines are being prepared to educate JSA visitors in avoiding language or behavior that can provoke South or North Korean soldiers, who are soon to be unarmed according to the plan.
