Two Koreas Hold Second Weekly Meeting at Liaison Office

South and North Korean co-heads of the recently opened joint liaison office at the Gaesong Industrial Complex held their second talks to discuss measures to follow up on the Pyongyang Declaration.

The Unification Ministry in Seoul said that South Korean Vice Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung and his North Korean counterpart, Jon Jong-su, held talks at 10 a.m. at the liaison office in the North on Friday.

The two sides reportedly discussed joint events to celebrate the upcoming eleventh anniversary of the 2007 inter-Korean summit.

South and North Korea are also known to have exchanged opinions on schedules for high-level inter-Korean talks, which will likely take place early next month decide on detailed plans to implement the Pyongyang Declaration.

The meeting also touched on diverse issues regarding the management and operation of the liaison office. 

The two sides held their inaugural meeting on the opening day of the liaison office on September 14th, but skipped their weekly talks last week due to the inter-Korean summit in Pyongyang.
