South Korea plans to send a large delegation to North Korea for a joint event celebrating the eleventh anniversary of the October Fourth Declaration.

The declaration was signed at the 2007 summit by then President Roh Moo-hyun and his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-il in Pyongyang. This is the first time South and North Korea will jointly commemorate the occasion.

Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon and ruling party chairman Lee Hae-chan are among those leading the 150-member delegation set to fly directly to Pyongyang Thursday, a day in advance of the event.

Roh Geon-ho, the son of the late president, is a member of the South Korean delegation.

During the stay in the North, the South Korean delegation will also visit major facilities, watch art performances and hold meetings with North Korean officials.
