China puts man into orbit

China's state-run CCTV reported Wednesday that the Chinese government has succeeded in launching a manned spaceship, the Shenzhou V, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Korean time.

The first Chinese manned space-flight, carrying astronaut Yang Liwei, was launched into orbit at a space center in Jiuquan, a remote part of the Gobi Desert in Gansu province.

China, joins the exclusive club of Russia and the US, becoming just the third nation to ever successfully launch a manned space-flight.
