Unmanned U.S. Spy Plane Crashes in S. Korea

An unmanned U.S. spy plane crashed north of Seoul as it tried to make an emergency landing during a training flight.

A spokeswoman at the 8th U.S. Army said the Shadow 200 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle crashed near Tongduchon, 46 kilometers northeast of the capital early Thursday morning. 9 pm Gmt thursday.

Tongduchon is the base of the 2nd Infantry Division, a component of the 37,000 U.S. troops in South Korea.

There was no report of injuries on the ground and the cause of the incident was being investigated.
