The government says it will break ground on construction of the Osong Bio-Health Technopolis in North Chungcheong Province Monday.

Officials are hoping that the complex, to be built in the central part of the country, will emerge as a bastion for the nations bio-health industry.

The complex will house domestic and foreign entrepreneurs as well as state-run bio-health-related institutes. A total of 3.6 trillion won is to be poured into the project, which is expected to additionally give birth to a new adjacent city and 16,000 jobs.

An international bio-symposium will be hosted in conjunction with the launching ceremony on Monday. Some 15,000 dignitaries from home and abroad are slated to attend the ceremony.
