The Ministry of Science and Technology is launching a special task force to induce foreign science and research institutes to open branches in South Korea.

The ministry plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Cavendish Laboratory of Cambridge University to establish a joint research cooperation center within the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

The ministry earlier signed a similar accord with the Pasteur Institute of France in January for the establishment of the French institute
