Addressing the violent protests that wracked Seoul Sunday, South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun made it clear Monday that no one would benefit from what he deemed 'illegal' demonstrations.

During a meeting of presidential advisors and aides at Chong Wa Dae, President Roh assailed the staging of such protests, saying that both he and his administration had always kept the door open for dialogue with disgruntled laborers.

The president also instructed staff present at the meeting to do their utmost to maintain and judiciously enforce social order and a stable relationship with labor unions.
