President Roh Moo-hyun met with visiting Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Tadao Chino at Chong Wa Dae Monday to discuss outstanding economic and cooperative issues.

During the meeting, President Roh explained the Seoul government's efforts in preparing the 37th ADB annual General Conference to be held in Jeju Island next May, and asked the ADB president to render active support to make the international conference a success.

Chino, who has been head of the ADB since January 1999, arrived here Monday for a three-day visit.

Chino will then fly to Jeju Island on Tuesday to review preparations for the conference being made on that resort island.
